XXVI Manolo Valdés Art Competition and Exhibition 2026 in Altura

The Altura City Council (Castellón) has announced the 26th edition of the Manolo Valdés Art Competition and Exhibition, open to artists of any nationality. Participants may submit one original painting or sculpture, not previously awarded, with paintings measuring between 100x81 cm and 200 cm in any dimension, and sculptures not exceeding 40 kg. The deadline for submission is July 13, 2026. Four prizes are offered: International Manolo Valdés Sculpture Prize (€2,000), International Manolo Valdés Painting Prize (€2,000), Young Artist Manolo Valdés Prize (€500, for ages 16-25 from the Valencian Community), and Regional Manolo Valdés Prize (€1,000, for artists from Alto Palancia). Sponsors include the Altura City Council, Fundación Aguas de Valencia, and Fundación Bancaja. The IVAM will contribute a selection of publications for each awardee. Winning works become property of the Altura City Council for a future Manolo Valdés Municipal Museum. Selected works will be exhibited at the Sala de Exposiciones Manolo Valdés from September 12 to 27, 2026, with a color catalog.
