Eight Arts Writers Win 2026 Rabkin Prize, Including Two Hyperallergic Contributors
The Dorothea and Leo Rabkin Foundation announced on September 10, 2023, the eight honorees of its 2026 Rabkin Prize, each receiving an unrestricted $50,000. The awardees are Damien Davis, Alicia Inez Guzmán, Melaine Ferdinand-King, Tyler Green, Julia Halperin, Sarah Lewis, Jan Tumlir, and Kaelen Wilson-Goldie, selected by an independent jury. Executive director Mary Louise Schumacher commended the winners for their dedication to exploring depth and complexity in today’s rapid culture. Davis expressed that the acknowledgment supports his unbounded artistic vision. Beginning September 16, each laureate will be featured on the Rabkin Interviews podcast. Since its inception in 2017, the foundation, founded in 1999, has distributed over $4 million, with previous recipients including Paul Chaat Smith and Hrag Vartanian.
