Wendy Wagner Foundation Opens Fall 2026 Trio Grant Call for Houston Women Artists
The Wendy Wagner Foundation is calling for applications from contemporary female visual artists aged 21 and older residing in the Greater Houston area for its Fall 2026 Trio grants. These grants, awarded twice a year, include three amounts: $5,000, $2,500, and $1,000, aimed at celebrating innovative artistic expression. Named in memory of Wendy Wagner, a Houston artist whose life was cut short by a brain tumor in 2013, she passed away in 2014 at the age of 47. Wagner, a 1998 alumna of the Glassell School of Art, won the $50,000 Hunting Art Prize in 2008, and her 2013 solo exhibition received acclaim in The New York Times. The foundation's Creative Awards program, initiated in 2018, features spring and fall grant cycles. Applications are due by Thursday, October 1; finalists will be informed by October 15, and grant winners on November 1.
