VIII Bienal Internacional de Pintura Los Santos de Maimona opens call for entries

The eighth edition of the Bienal Internacional de Pintura Los Santos de Maimona, themed around wine, grapes, and harvest, is now accepting submissions until July 21, 2026. Organized by the Concejalía de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Los Santos de Maimona, the competition is open to artists aged 18 and over of any nationality, with a separate local children's category for ages 5 to 15. Each participant may submit up to three original, unpublished works on canvas or board using oils, acrylics, or similar media (excluding tempera, watercolor, charcoal, sanguine, or analogous techniques). Works must measure between 50 cm and 1.5 meters on any side, presented with a simple wooden frame and no glass. Entries are submitted online via Mundoarti, with selected works to be delivered in person or by certified mail to the Oficina de Turismo at Casa de la Cultura, Plaza de España, 9, between July 23 and August 2, 2026. A jury of recognized art and culture professionals will announce the winners on August 6, 2026, on the municipal website and official channels. The exhibition runs from August 6 to 30, 2026, at Casa de la Cultura. Prizes include €1,000 for first place, €750 for second, a €500 local artist award, and a €100 painting kit for the top children's entry. Awarded works become municipal property.
