Texas Women for the Arts Awards $181K to 24 Arts Education Programs

Texas Women for the Arts (TWA), a funding organization under the Texas Cultural Trust (TXCT), has revealed its arts education grants for 2026, distributing $181,000 to 24 organizations in 12 cities across Texas. Established in 2005, TWA has allocated over $5 million, benefiting nearly 4 million children. The upcoming grants are set to impact 239,190 children in Texas. Among the recipients are performing arts venues like Fort Worth's Casa Mañana and Houston's Open Dance Project, alongside visual arts institutions such as the Art Center of Corpus Christi and Austin's Center for Women & Their Work. Grant amounts vary from $1,000 to $30,000, as decided by TWA's Grant and Executive Committees. Chris Crowden, Executive Director of Women & Their Work, emphasized that TWA funding will facilitate transportation for Austin students to engage with the gallery and teaching artists. TWA's grant applications necessitate demographic information regarding audiences and staff, including details about children served, particularly those at risk or with special needs.
