Stella Prize 2027 Judges and Expanded Longlist Announced
The Stella Prize has announced its 2027 judging panel and key dates. The panel is chaired by critic Beejay Silcox, joined by bookseller Tim Jarvis, interviewer Michaela Kalowski, novelist Hannah Kent, and writer Jasmin McGaughey. Entries open July 27 to October 5, 2026, for books by Australian women and non-binary writers published in 2026. The longlist, expanded to 16 books for the prize's 15th year, will be announced in March 2027, shortlist in April, and winner in May 2027. Longlisted authors receive $2,000 each, shortlisted $5,000, and the winner $60,000. The 2026 prize was won by Lee Lai for 'Cannon'.
