Robert Fielding Wins 2026 Hadley's Art Prize with 'Landscape'

Robert Fielding, an artist of Pakistani, Afghan, Western Arrernte, and Yankunytjatjara descent, has been awarded the 2026 Hadley's Art Prize, an acquisitive award worth $100,000. His winning work, titled 'Landscape' (2026), is a synthetic polymer on linen piece that depicts stacked abandoned car wrecks as embodiments of Country, carrying traces of ceremony, journeys, family, and time, while symbolizing presence and absence. Fielding lives and works in Mimili on the APY Lands. The prize, which is acquisitive, means the artwork will be added to a collection. Honourable Mentions were given to Natasha Bieniek, Brenda Croft, Kim Leutwyler, and Betty Muffler. Additionally, Kelsey Ashe won the $10,000 Hadley's Residency Prize.
