Rimowa Design Prize Winners Announced for Nura and Paludi Harvester
Rimowa awarded €20,000 to Samuel Nagel and Paul Feiler for Nura, a wearable device that translates sign language into speech and text, developed with mentor Tim Richter of Siemens Healthineers. Niklas Henning won €10,000 for the Paludi Harvester, an autonomous machine that harvests reed to restore peatlands, mentored by Leica's Stefan Daniel. The fourth annual competition, juried by designer Farah Ebrahimi, asked German design students to create prototypes aiding mobility. Nagel and Feiler plan to pursue further studies and development; Henning seeks partners for a working prototype.
