Reinosa Opens Call for 49th Casimiro Sainz National Painting Competition

The Reinosa City Council has announced the 49th edition of the Casimiro Sainz National Painting Competition, open to Spanish artists and foreign residents in Spain. Each participant may submit one original work of any theme or technique, with dimensions not exceeding 175 cm on the longest side and frames no thicker than 3 cm. Entries must not have won any other prize. Applicants must email or mail a high-resolution photograph (300 dpi, JPG or TIFF) along with their CV, technical details, and a conceptual statement to biblioteca@aytoreinosa.es by July 25, 2026. Selected artists will be notified before August 4, 2026, and must deliver their works to the La Casona Tourist Office in Reinosa between September 1 and 11, 2026. The exhibition of selected works will run from September 15 to 30, 2026, at La Casona, where the jury's final decision will be announced. A single prize of €3,750 will be awarded, subject to taxes, and the jury may grant honorary mentions without monetary value. The winning work becomes property of the city and will be reproduced on the next competition's announcement; honorary mention works will appear on the reverse. The winner will be offered a solo exhibition at La Casona in July 2027. Shipping costs are borne by participants, and the organization is not liable for damage.
