Queens Museum Opens 2027–28 Fellowship for Two Emerging NYC Artists

The Queens Museum has launched the eighth cycle of its QM-Jerome Foundation Fellowship, offering two emerging visual artists a one-year residency culminating in a solo exhibition in 2028. Each fellow receives $20,000, mentorship from museum staff and an established New York-based artist, curatorial support, and professional development consultations. Applicants must be visual artists residing in one of New York City's five boroughs, with two to ten years of practice outside degree programs, no prior solo museum or commercial gallery exhibitions, and no major grants. Career interruptions like caregiving or medical leave are excluded from the eligibility period. The jury includes two guest jurors and Queens Museum curators. Applications are due by 28 September 2026. The fellowship is supported by the Jerome Foundation and provides institutional backing at a pivotal career stage.
