Premio Sulmona Returns for 53rd Edition with Ovid-Inspired Theme and 12 Contemporary Artists
The 53rd Premio Sulmona is set to commence on Saturday, 17 October, at 11 AM, taking place at the Complesso monumentale dell'Abbazia di Santo Spirito al Morrone, under the direction of Ivan D'Alberto. The theme for 2026 is "To THINK – l'arte lascia un Segno," which encompasses the sections Premio, Accademia, Territorio, and Giornalismo, along with Omaggio and Collaterali. This year's program delves into writing and visual arts through Ovid's Metamorphoses, highlighting Philomela's artistic expression of her trauma. The Premio section features twelve contemporary artists. Omaggio showcases individual exhibitions by Iacopo Pinelli and Emilio Cavallini, while Collaterali pays tribute to Tito Amodei, presents Franco Gelli's visual poetry, and celebrates 50 years of Rivista Segno. The event will also include discussions, book launches, and performances.
