Premio Garpez for Emerging Comedy Launches at Teatro Oscar in Milan

The Premio Garpez – per la risata emergente has been introduced for comedians aged 35 and younger (born in 1991 or later for the 2026 edition). This initiative is part of FOOLS – Il Festival del Giullare, which will kick off the 2026/27 season at Teatro Oscar | Teatro degli Angeli in Milan. The festival will showcase performances, cabaret acts, and discussions featuring guests such as Giacomo Poretti and Angelo Pintus. The competition consists of three stages; the first stage has concluded with 18 contestants chosen from original video submissions. On September 17 and 18, they will perform a second piece. The final selection will take place on October 5, 2026, with five finalists. Poretti will lead the jury, granting 1,000 euros to the winner, though the prize may not be awarded if the performances are considered inadequate. The name Garpez pays homage to a fictional sculptor from 'Tre uomini e una gamba', highlighting new comedic talent.
