Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships Offer $90K for Immigrant Visual Artists

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans offers a maximum of $90,000 over a two-year period to immigrants and their children who are engaged in graduate studies in the United States, encompassing fields such as visual arts, architecture, design, and film. Annually, 30 Fellows are awarded funding that includes both tuition and a stipend. The initiative has aided nearly 900 Fellows hailing from more than 100 nations. To qualify, applicants must be 30 years old or younger, intend to enroll full-time in graduate programs for the 2027–2028 academic year, and fulfill citizenship or residency requirements. Applications must be submitted by October 29, 2026. The fellowship prioritizes creativity and sustained achievement. Jonathan Herrera Soto, a 2023 Fellow and MFA student at Yale School of Art, remarked that the program fosters legitimacy and community for immigrant artists.
