Numero Cromatico Wins Visions Prize 2026 with Art-Neuroscience Project

The Roman collective Numero Cromatico has won the second edition of the Visions Prize, an award for artists under 40 promoted by Visions. The prize was announced on June 13, 2026, in Naples during the international summit ctrl/shift, which focuses on AI, quantum computing, and Web3. The jury—composed of Fabio Agovino, Marco Bassan, Gianluca Di Bella, Fabrizio Romano Genovese, and Daniela Zangrando—selected Numero Cromatico for its ability to address the call's theme "I Popoli del Mare" (The Peoples of the Sea), which explores social, technological, and cultural transformations. The collective's transdisciplinary practice combines visual art, neuroscience, psychology, philosophy, and design, focusing on perceptual, cognitive, and linguistic processes. Numero Cromatico also publishes Nodes – Journal of Art and Neuroscience, a scientific journal on neuroaesthetics. A special mention was awarded to Andrea Bolognino, an artist and PhD candidate in Visual Arts at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli, who trained in Naples and at the Kunsthochschule Weissensee in Berlin. His work moves from painting and drawing to installations and immersive environments, exploring the relationship between living and non-living matter. The award ceremony includes a talk at ctrl/shift, held from June 13 to 15 at Villa Doria d'Angri in Naples.
