Nature and Humans Photo Competition Awards 26 Winning Images
The third annual Nature and Humans Photo Competition, organized by Fundación DESEA and directed by Spanish nature photographer Arturo de Frías, has announced 26 winning photographs across multiple categories. The contest received entries from photographers in 49 countries and regions. Winners include human.cruelties (€1,500) for the Conservation Photography — Thematic Series with "Uncovering what’s hidden," Francisco Negroni for Conservation Photography — Single Image with "Screaming in the wind," and Javier Murcia for Conservation Photography — Spain with "I want my soda." Louise Jorgensen won Nature Told by Women (€1,500) for "Out of Sight, Out of Mind." Daniel Valverde won both The Beauty of the Planet (€1,000 voucher) for "Shaking Off While Eating" and The Beauty of Spain (€500 voucher) for "Power Struggle." Hira Punjabi won Mammals with "Bat Bath" (Sony kit valued at €1,700). Andrea Izzotti won Birds with "Cormorhunt" (€500 voucher). Lesley Rochat won Oceans with "Ghost of the Kelp Forest" (OM-5 Mark II kit). Lalith Ekanayake won Creative with "Wings of Ghost." Javier Herranz won Landscape with "Flysch." Jofre Cutal Gallifa won Youth with "Vergonya." Alberto Román Gómez won Child category with "A break at 40°C." The fourth edition is open for entries until September 28, 2026.
