MUREC opens call for young Spanish realist artists 2026
The Museo del Realismo Español Contemporáneo (MUREC) in Almería has launched its second call for young Spanish realist artists, open to nationals aged 18–35. Participants may submit one original, unpublished painting or sculpture in a figurative or realist style, with paintings limited to 2×2 meters. The deadline is August 31, 2026. A jury will select works for a group exhibition at MUREC from November 6, 2026 to January 17, 2027. Two acquisition prizes of €3,000 each will be awarded by the Diputación de Almería and the Fundación de Arte Ibáñez Cosentino. Selected artists will also be included in an exhibition catalogue. Submissions are accepted exclusively via the Mundoarti platform.
