La Fábrica, Martín Azúa e Inés Llasera win Spain's 2026 National Design Awards

The 2026 National Innovation and Design Awards, Spain's highest institutional recognition for design, have been announced by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. Martín Azúa received the Career in Design award for his three-decade trajectory blending industrial design, architecture, and natural resource research. His iconic piece Casa Básica is in MoMA's permanent collection. La Fábrica, founded in 1996, won the Design and Enterprise award for its influential cultural platforms including PHotoESPAÑA, Madrid Design Festival, and Matador magazine. Inés Llasera was honored in the Young Professionals category for her material research and reinterpretation of artisanal processes. The Career award carries a €50,000 prize, while the Young Professionals award is €30,000.
