Kengo Kuma to Receive Andrée Putman Lifetime Achievement Award at 2027 Créateurs Design Awards

On January 16, 2027, Kengo Kuma, a prominent Japanese architect born in Yokohama in 1954, will be honored with the Andrée Putman Lifetime Achievement Award during the 2027 Créateurs Design Awards at Shangri-La Paris. Kuma established Kengo Kuma & Associates in 1990 and expanded his practice by opening a Paris office in 2008. His acclaimed works encompass the V&A Dundee, FRAC Marseille, Cité des Arts et de la Culture, Japan National Stadium, and the Saint-Denis Pleyel station. Since 2009, he has been a faculty member at the University of Tokyo and was awarded the Japan Art Academy Prize in 2024. The award, named after the renowned French designer, is conferred by the Créateurs Design Association, with past honorees including Norman Foster and Tadao Ando.
