Jansen Excellence Architectural Awards 2026 Launches in Iberia
Swiss steel profile manufacturer Jansen, in collaboration with Navarrese firm Vaillo+Irigaray Architects, has launched the first edition of the Jansen Excellence Architectural Awards. The biennial prize focuses on projects in Spain and Portugal where steel construction defines architectural quality. Categories include Architecture Prize (large-scale works), Jansen Prize (innovative steel joinery integration), and Emerging Prize (architects under 40). Eligible works must have been built between 2024 and 2026 using Jansen systems. The jury includes Jorge García (Jansen Iberia), Antonio and Yago Vaillo, Alberto Veiga (Barozzi Veiga), Josep Ferrando, and José María Sánchez García. Submissions close June 15, 2026. The awards ceremony will take place October 15, 2026 in Barcelona, coinciding with the city's designation as UIA-UNESCO World Capital of Architecture 2026 and the World Congress of Architects. Selected projects will be published in an official catalog.
