IED Rome's Blindfolded Design Games Win Compasso d'Oro Young 2026

The 'A Occhi Chiusi' project, which means 'With Eyes Closed,' was put together by Product Design students at IED Rome and has received multiple honors. It’s featured in the ADI Design Index 2025, earned a spot in the Compasso d'Oro Young 2026, and won the iF Design Student Award 2026 for the game Bendadi. This initiative, developed during the 2023/2024 academic year, was led by designer Mauro Del Santo and visually impaired artist Lucilla D'Antilio. It includes 11 games designed for children to play while blindfolded. D'Antilio, who lost her sight in the 1990s, promotes the idea of 'seeing with your hands' to encourage designs that engage other senses and expand creative thinking.
