Gōzō Yoshimasu Wins Inaugural Serpentine x FLAG Art Foundation Prize
Gōzō Yoshimasu has been awarded the inaugural Serpentine x FLAG Art Foundation Prize, recognized as the largest of its kind in the UK with a biennial prize fund totaling GBP 1 million (USD 1.4 million) distributed among five artists. Yoshimasu, born in Tokyo in 1939, will receive GBP 200,000 (USD 270,000). His work will be featured in exhibitions at Serpentine North in London in late 2027 and The FLAG Art Foundation in New York in early 2028. The jury included prominent figures such as Michelle Kuo and Rirkrit Tiravanija.
