Gloriann Sacha Antonetty-Lebrón and Juan Pablo Vizcaíno Win People's Choice Award at Smithsonian Portrait Competition

Gloriann Sacha Antonetty-Lebrón from Carolina, Puerto Rico, along with Juan Pablo Vizcaíno from Loíza, Puerto Rico, has been awarded the People's Choice Award in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery's 2025 Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition. Their joint 12-channel video installation, "Hebras y Vejigantes," was chosen via digital voting by attendees both in person and online at "The Outwin 2025: American Portraiture Today" exhibition. This triennial competition highlights contemporary portrait art from the United States and its territories. The winning work is among 34 portraits currently exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., where it will be on view until August 30. The competition, held every three years, emphasizes emerging trends in American portraiture.
