Germany Awards Rome Prizes and Residencies in Italy and France

Wolfram Weimer, Germany's Minister of State for Culture, revealed the recipients of the Rome Prize for residencies at the Deutsche Akademie Rom Villa Massimo, as well as stipends for Casa Baldi in Olevano Romano and the German Study Center in Venice, all supported by the federal government. The winners for the ten-month residency at Villa Massimo, commencing in September 2027, are Christoph Wagner, Sven Johne, Paula Doepfner, Svenja Leiber, Julia Schoch, Robert Henke, and Sophia Jani. Selected for Casa Baldi in 2027/2028 are Prof. Verena Schmidt, Jens Klein, Cihan Çakmak, Ricarda Messner, Markus Thielemann, Jug Marković, and Hristina Šušak. Recipients for the German Study Center include Juliane Seehawer, Youssef Tabti, Ronny Bulik, Jennifer de Negri, Stefan Hornbach, Andrea Burelli, and Agnese Menguzzato. Additionally, for the Cité Internationale des Arts in 2027/2028, chosen artists are Prof. Heike Hanada, Veronika Kellndorfer, Stefanie Schroeder, Başak Günak, and Clemens K. Thomas. The selection process was overseen by the Kulturstiftung der Länder, with juries comprising experts from diverse fields.
