Gabriel Calparsoro Receives ARCO Foundation Award for His Personal Art Collection

Gabriel Calparsoro has been honored with the ARCO Foundation's A Award for Collecting. His collection, which he describes as emotional and personal, comprises approximately 180 international works including photography, sculpture, painting, and video art. Calparsoro began acquiring art over thirty years ago, initially as a personal exploration, with a significant influence from his time in New York in 1988. He recently established the Calparsoro Foundation to promote public access to contemporary art and foster dialogue on social issues. The collection reflects his life experiences and focuses on social, political, and experimental themes.
