Fundación Botín Announces 2026-2027 International Art Grant Program

Fundación Botín has launched its 33rd annual art grant program for the 2026-2027 period, inviting artists worldwide to apply for financial support. The foundation will award six grants, each providing €23,000 to recipients for a nine-month period dedicated to artistic development. Applications must be submitted by May 8, 2026. The program supports projects focused on research, training, or production within contemporary visual arts. One grant is specifically designated for Spanish artists or those residing in Spain for at least five years who are under 30 years old and propose projects involving international relocation. A jury composed of artists, curators, and art professionals will evaluate submissions based on proposal quality, relevance, and potential impact on contemporary art practice. Selected artists will present their completed work in the Itinerarios exhibition at Centro Botín, with additional publication opportunities. The grant funds can be used for living expenses, travel, materials, and production costs. Established in 1993, this initiative has supported more than 200 artists globally, contributing to experimental work and long-term career development. Final selections will be announced in July 2026 through the foundation's official channels.
