Consell de Mallorca Opens Two Research Grants on Its Museum Collection

The Consell Insular de Mallorca's Department of Culture and Heritage has introduced two research grants, each worth 7,500 euros, amounting to a total of 15,000 euros from the 2026 and 2027 budgets. Candidates should possess a degree in Art History or humanities; an individual may submit applications for both grants but will only be awarded one. Projects that have been published or relate to academic curricula are not eligible. Proposals must focus on one of three topics: foreign artists associated with Mallorca, William Eduard Cook (1881-1959), or Mallorcan artists from the late 19th to early 20th century. Applications are due within 15 working days following the Boletín Oficial de las Illes Balears publication, with a final deadline of 1 October 2026. Research must be finalized within a year, with payments made in three installments. An evaluation committee will assess submissions based on various criteria, and recipients are required to publicly present their findings.
