Communication Arts Design Competition 2026 Opens with AI-Generated Work Ban

Entries are now being accepted for the 2026 Communication Arts Design Competition, which explicitly prohibits submissions generated by AI text-to-image technologies. This prestigious graphic design event, now in its 67th year, celebrates illustrators and photographers from around the world. To qualify, projects must have been published between May 2025 and May 2026. Winners will be highlighted in the Communication Arts Design Annual and will receive a customized Award of Excellence trophy along with certificates. The judging panel includes experts such as Amber Asay and Emilka Bojańczyk. Entries must be registered by May 8, 2026, with a late registration option available until May 22, 2026. Submissions should be made online in JPG/JPEG, MOV/MP4/MPG/MPEG, or PDF formats. Entry fees are nonrefundable, and Communication Arts retains reproduction rights.
