Chanyoung Chung Wins Colour Category in 2025 Booooooom Photo Awards

Chanyoung Chung has been named winner of the Colour category in the 2025 Booooooom Photo Awards, now in its fourth edition. The awards, supported by Format and WANDRD, recognized five winners across categories including Portrait, Street, Colour, Nature, and Student. Born in South Korea and raised in Montréal, Chung previously worked as a nurse in Vancouver for seven years before turning to photography. He currently creates still-life studio images while also capturing traces of contemporary life outside the studio, with work that explores themes of peace, cooperation, and social harmony. The open call attracted numerous submissions, with guest judges participating in the selection process. Format, an online portfolio builder specializing in photographers, artists, and designers, provided sponsorship alongside WANDRD.
