Brazilian Photographer André Tezza Wins Third Place in Sony World Photography Awards Latin America Category

André Tezza, a photographer from Curitiba, Brazil, secured third place in the Latin America Professional Award category of the 2026 Sony World Photography Awards. His winning series, titled 'Mercadinhos,' documents small neighborhood markets in Curitiba's outskirts, highlighting their visual culture and resistance to large retail chains. The awards are organized by Sony and the World Photography Organisation. In the same category, first place went to Citlali Fabián and second to María Fernanda García. Tezza will receive Sony equipment, attend the London ceremony, and gain international exposure. The overall winners will be announced on April 16, 2026, with a public exhibition in London from April 17 to May 4.
