Bong Joon-ho Receives Stella della Mole at Museo Nazionale del Cinema in Turin
After 23 years since Memories of Murder secured the audience award at the Torino Film Festival, Bong Joon-ho, the acclaimed South Korean filmmaker, returned to Turin to accept the Stella della Mole and conduct a masterclass alongside Carlo Chatrian, director of Museo Nazionale del Cinema. Born in 1969 in Daegu, Bong took a break from his animated project Ally, which is scheduled for a summer release, to participate in the event. He expressed admiration for the Mole Antonelliana and reflected on a past visit. The director of Parasite (2019) talked about Memories of Murder (2003) and mentioned the 2019 confession of Korea's first known serial killer, drawing parallels between Song Kang-ho and Marcello Mastroianni while citing influences like Ladri di biciclette and Luchino Visconti.
