Austrian State Scholarships Announced for Visual Arts, Photography, and Media Art in 2025

The Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport has opened applications for state scholarships in visual arts, photography, and media art for 2025. These awards recognize outstanding past artistic achievements and support further creative projects, with 32 grants available: 20 for visual arts, 7 for photography, and 5 for media art. Each scholarship provides €18,000 for a 12-month period starting January 2025, with additional monthly supplements for eligible single parents. Applicants must be Austrian citizens or permanent residents, not currently enrolled in university studies, and cannot have previously received a state scholarship or another long-term grant for 2025. The deadline for submissions is September 30, 2024, via an online form, requiring documentation such as a project proposal, artistic portfolio, and resume. An independent jury will select recipients, with all applicants notified by email.
