ArtRio FOCO Prize Opens 2026 Edition for Emerging Brazilian Artists

The FOCO ArtRio Prize has opened applications for its 2026 edition, targeting visual artists with up to 15 years of career experience. Since its inception in 2013, the prize has supported 38 artists. Free applications are open until June 28 via the ArtRio website. A curatorial committee led by Bernardo Mosqueira, along with partner institutions, will select three winners. They will be announced during the opening of ArtRio 2026 in September at Marina da Glória, Rio de Janeiro. Winners receive grants for four- to six-week residencies at Residência MECA (Niterói), Terra Una (Minas Gerais), and Residência Sacatar (Bahia) between November 2026 and August 2027, covering accommodation and travel. The prize is recognized as a key platform for emerging artists in Brazil.
