Art Cologne Prize 2025 Goes to Düsseldorf Collector Family Bronner

The Düsseldorf-based Bronner family will receive the Art Cologne Prize, awarded by Koelnmesse and the Federal Association of German Galleries and Art Dealers (BVDG). The prize honors over three generations of commitment to collecting, promoting, and publicly mediating art, as stated in a Tuesday announcement. Through donations and loans to museums and the publicly accessible Sammlung Philara in Düsseldorf, the family has set lasting impulses for the art and cultural landscape. The jury citation praises Gil Bronner and his family for enabling visitors to participate on many levels in their art cosmos, which links international high culture with the local art scene. The award ceremony will take place on November 6 at the Historic Town Hall in Cologne. Karla Zerressen of the Langen Foundation in Neuss will deliver the laudation. The Art Cologne Prize, supported by Koelnmesse and the BVDG, is endowed with 10,000 euros and is awarded annually for special achievements in art mediation. Previous recipients include Harald Szeemann, Monika Sprüth, Walther König, gallerist Andree Sfeir Semler, and the collector couple Karen and Christian Boros.
