Anna Puigjaner Wins RIBA Charles Jencks Award 2026, Will Speak at MEXTRÓPOLI
The Royal Institute of British Architects and The Cosmic House have announced that Anna Puigjaner, a Catalan architect, will receive the RIBA Charles Jencks Award in 2026. This honor celebrates notable advancements in architectural theory and practice. Puigjaner, a co-founder of MAIO and a faculty member at ETH Zürich, challenges conventional views on fixed domestic spaces by redefining housing as a form of collective infrastructure that highlights overlooked spatial activities. Established in memory of Charles Jencks, who passed away in 2019, the award has previously been given to figures such as DAAR, Dogma, Peter Eisenman, Zaha Hadid, and Rem Koolhaas. The presentation will take place on 9 October 2026 at the Architectural Association in London, accompanied by a lecture and interview.
