Ana Prada Wins Artista Destacada at Abierto Valencia with Galería Luis Adelantado Show

Ana Prada has been named Artista Destacada by the Ayuntamiento de Valencia, an honor tied to her exhibition "El sueño de la imagen" at Galería Luis Adelantado, presented as part of Abierto Valencia. The recognition includes the acquisition of one of her works for the municipal collection. The show, on view through November, is Prada's first solo exhibition at the gallery. Centered on transformation, the project examines everyday domestic objects that are stripped of their original function and given a new nature through repetition, alteration, assembly and displacement, producing image, rhythm and form while evoking the uncanny. Prada frames the work around the instant of transition in which a thing ceases to be what it was without yet becoming something else, a fragile and unstable interval where the image emerges, as in the myth of Daphne, whose pursued body becomes laurel. In her practice, objects are neither closed symbols nor simple raw materials but bodies in process, marked by use, domestic memory, industrial production and visual culture, which the artist leads toward another sculptural and graphic nature. The exhibition includes the work "Día tras día," dated 2025-2026.
