87th Valdepeñas International Exhibition of Visual Arts Opens Call for Entries

The 87th Exposición Internacional de Artes Plásticas de Valdepeñas, Spain's oldest continuous art competition, has opened its call for entries. Spanish and foreign artists over 18 may submit up to two paintings or sculptures. Paintings must be between 100x81 cm and 250 cm; sculptures under 2 m. Works must be delivered to Pabellón Ferial Esteban López Vega in Valdepeñas from June 15 to July 3, 2026. The Gold Medal prize, instituted by the Ayuntamiento de Valdepeñas, carries €15,000. Additional acquisition prizes total €53,000 from Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha, Diputación Provincial de Ciudad Real, Fundación Global Caja Ciudad Real, Tecnobit-Grupo Oesia, CRDO Queso Manchego, Francisco Delgado ABOGADOS, and Moisés Argudo Mínguez. The selected exhibition opens August 30, 2026 at Centro Cultural La Confianza. Gold Medal winners cannot compete for the medal in the next two editions but may still receive acquisition prizes. The jury evaluates artistic quality, composition, innovation, and the artist's trajectory.
