83rd Venice Film Festival Announces Collateral Awards and Side Events
The collateral awards for the 83rd Venice Film Festival have been revealed, with Lee Chang-dong's "Possible Love" taking home the FIPRESCI Prize for Best Film in the Venezia 83 competition. In the Orizzonti section, Xavier Tera's "The Color of the Sun" was honored as Best Film. The Giornate degli Autori recognized María Aparicio's "A veces me entra tristeza, otras veces rebelión" with the GDA Director's Award, while Robert Guédiguian's "Une femme aujourd'hui" received the Label Europa Cinemas award, and Nicola Sorcinelli's "Balcanica" won the People's Choice Award. Hirokazu Koreeda's "Look Back" garnered several collateral accolades. Marco Bechis's "Ritorno a Buenos Aires" earned the Premio Francesco Pasinetti, and the Queer Lion was awarded to Theo Rollason's "Queer Edward II."
