2026 Queensland Architecture Awards Honor Bold Designs from Brisbane to Gold Coast
The 2026 Queensland Architecture Awards celebrated a range of projects from across the state. The prestigious Queensland Medallion was awarded to the BNE Commercial Tower at North Quay, a collaboration between Hassell, REX, and Richards & Spence, which features landscaped terraces and a public plaza. Additionally, it received the Beatrice Hutton award for commercial architecture and an art accolade for a bas-relief by Bruce Reynolds. Peter Besley was honored with the Robin Dods award for his residential project 'Birdwood' in Mount Coot-tha. The interior architecture award went to Dolphin Court House on the Gold Coast, designed by ME, while the University of Queensland's Plant Futures Facility by m3architecture shared the interior architecture prize and excelled in educational architecture. Heritage awards recognized the upgrade of Warwick's police station by Phillips Smith Conwell Architects, along with the design of Golden Avenue restaurant by J.AR Office.
