2026 NSW Architecture Awards: Central Station Revamp Wins Top Prize

On July 2, 2026, the Australian Institute of Architects held the 2026 NSW architecture awards, celebrating significant architectural achievements. The revamp of Sydney's Central Station by Woods Bagot and John McAslan + Partners earned both the NSW Architecture Medallion and the Sulman Medal. The Premier's Prize, along with three public architecture awards, was awarded to the Sydney Fish Market, crafted by 3XN, BVN, and ASPECT Studios. The Nancy-Bird Walton-named Western Sydney International Airport also secured three public architecture awards. Hill Thalis's Campbelltown Station Commuter Car Park received the Sustainable Architecture award, while Hassell and Purcell's The Lands took home the Greenway Award for Heritage. BVN's Green Square Public School won the Lord Mayor's Prize, and Bokey Grant's EA House claimed the Blacket Prize. Atelier Luke's Broken Workshop was honored with a small project award, and JPW's 33 Alfred Street received a heritage award. Additionally, the Sydney Harbour Bridge cycleway redesign garnered both a heritage and urban design award, and Anthony Gill's Darlinghurst House was recognized with the Hugh and Eva Buhrich Award.
