Toby Mott's "My Self" Opens at PrimaLinea Studio in Rome After 30-Year Absence

exhibition · 2026-10-02

Toby Mott makes his long-awaited return to Rome after three decades with the exhibition "My Self by Toby Mott," set to launch on October 3 at PrimaLinea Studio. The artist, who was born in London in 1964, last graced the city in 1997 for a group exhibition at Sala1. Curated by Stefano Lemon and Guido Gazzilli, the showcase includes original pieces from the Grey Organisation archive, drawings, artworks, video snippets, and personal photographs. Mott, a co-founder of the Grey Organisation (1983–1991), is noted for the May 21, 1985, event where members painted the windows of Cork Street gallery grey. The exhibition will also feature a limited-edition zine and a two-color screenprint.
