The Florentine Table: Ugo Poggi Installation Debuts in Palazzo Medici Riccardi's Luca Giordano Hall
On display in the Sala Luca Giordano at Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Florence, is a table designed by Ugo Poggi and reimagined by his son, Niccolò Ugo Poggi. This installation, part of The Florentine Table Experience, will be available until 6 October 2026. It engages with the Baroque frescoes of Luca Giordano, incorporating mirror elements and plates in soft pastel hues. Gilded salt cellars and cutlery evoke ornate frames. The initiative seeks to celebrate the cultural legacy of the Arte della Tavola, associated with Caterina de' Medici's dining innovations in France. Established in 1922, Poggi Maison continues to create porcelain, silver, and decorative items. This installation is a gift to the people of Florence during contemporary art week, in partnership with BIAF and Città di Firenze.
