Sylvio Giardina Trasforms Rome's Trinità dei Monti Refectory into a Couture Atelier for a Seventh Tapestry
Sylvio Giardina's innovative couture project reimagines the Refettorio dei Minimi within Rome's Convento della Trinità dei Monti as a collaborative workspace, all under the stunning frescoes by Andrea Pozzo from 1694. In partnership with curator Isabella Vitale, this initiative follows Giardina's Haute Couture collection, Mon Seul Désir, presented at the Musée de Cluny in July 2026 for the autumn-winter 2026/27 season. Drawing inspiration from the La Dame à la licorne tapestries, Giardina establishes a temporary atelier where six students from Accademia Costume & Moda create a collage by cutting images from the tapestries and frescoes, envisioning a seventh tapestry. Vitale highlights the project's interactive essence, connecting it to the ephemeral designs of the seventeenth century, while Giardina merges tailoring with material exploration.
