Supernova: Radical Design and Contemporary Art at Teatro Michetti in Pescara

The exhibition 'Supernova' at Teatro Michetti in Pescara explores the dialogue between radical design and visual arts, curated by Massimiliano Scuderi and Elisabetta Trincherini. The exhibition takes its name from Poltronova, a historic Florentine design company, and presents iconic works by Ettore Sottsass (such as the Ultrafragola mirror), Superstudio, Gianni Pettena, and Archizoom, which combine design, art, and architecture. Alongside these masters, contemporary artists such as Alek O., Franck Scurti, Davide Stucchi, Céline Condorelli, Tomás Saraceno, and Lazar Lyutakov propose works that hybridize art and craftsmanship, domestic and public, work and leisure. A unique piece is the Murano glass egg cup by Alfredo Pirri, a copy of which is in the Correr Museum in Venice. The legacy of Radical is represented by Lili Reynaud-Dewar, who revisits Sottsass's words in an installation form. The exhibition is organized by the Zimei Foundation in collaboration with Poltronova and Urban Gallery.
