Stefano Arienti and Marco Mazzucconi Reunite in Lugano for 'One Art, Please!'

exhibition · 2026-06-23

Curator Maria Vittoria Baravelli showcases 'One Art, Please!' at Galleria Primo Marella in Lugano, highlighting the works of Stefano Arienti (born in Asola, 1961) and Marco Mazzucconi (born in Milan, 1963) until October 9, 2026. Their friendship, which dates back to the mid-1980s, is characterized by a humorous take on art, which stands in stark contrast to the dominant expressionism of that time. They first connected during the 1984 occupation of the Brown Boveri factory in Milan, led by architecture students from Corrado Levi's course at Politecnico. This event attracted media coverage in May before the site was sealed and demolished in June. Under Levi's guidance, they participated in various exhibitions. Mazzucconi's latest series includes large graphite sketches influenced by cartoonists, marking his return to Primo Marella.
