Serena Becagli's Mamma Mia Museum at Centro Pecci: Art, Caregiving, and Alzheimer's

In 1973, Florence native Serena Becagli, a curator, established the Mamma Mia Museum following her mother Antonella's dementia diagnosis in 2020. An exhibition titled La rivoluzione siamo noi is currently on display at the Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato, running until November 1, 2026, and launching in September to coincide with Alzheimer's Awareness Month. This showcase features 24 still-life photographs, videos, a ceramic vase crafted by Carlotta Fantozzi, and a hand-painted logo plaque. Additionally, a conference focused on dementia awareness is planned for October 26, emphasizing the contributions of Italy's 8 million unpaid caregivers, mainly women. Since 2017, the Centro Pecci has been involved in dementia initiatives.
