Ramona Ponzini Sonifies CNR Research Data in Turin Fence Installation
Ramona Ponzini's installation, Touch Rock Code Fade (Suite in 4 movements), is set to debut on October 22 at the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche campus in Turin. The artist, originally from Piacenza and born in 1979, has developed this four-part suite in collaboration with STEMS, GEO, IPSP, and IRCrES. The work draws inspiration from various sources, including by-products of winemaking, environmental data, plant virus protein sequences, and the evolution of music formats. Accompanying the sound are four aluminum panels. Known for her sonification projects, such as Down-hole at MAXXI L'Aquila, Ponzini aims to visually bridge the research center and the Mirafiori neighborhood. The opening event is scheduled from 17.30 to 20.30.
