Miogui Architecture Adds Retractable Mirrored Partition for Nursery in 59-Square-Meter Apartment

architecture-design · 2026-09-23

To design a nursery in their 59 square meter apartment, a couple anticipating a child sought the expertise of miogui architecture. The architects transformed the 21 square meter living space by incorporating a retractable partition adorned with mirrors, which enhances the perception of space. This partition operates on a ceiling track and can be folded with a simple hand gesture, as a secondary guide was not feasible due to the sloped flooring. A handle made of pine wood is included, and when the partition is closed, it further enhances the spatial illusion. Founded in 2019 by Sabine Fremiot and Léo Berastegui, miogui Architecture specializes in space optimization. The project is highlighted as a Smart Idea in a magazine, encouraging reader submissions.
