Matilde Sambo and Davide La Montagna Open Joystick's New Season in Venice

exhibition · 2026-10-14

Joystick, an independent contemporary art venue located in Venice, kicks off its season with the exhibition "Such a Fever: I Can't Stop Living / Che febbre: non riesco di smettere di vivere," showcasing the talents of Matilde Sambo and Davide La Montagna. Curated by Mara Sartore, this exhibition will be on display until 1 November 2026 at Calle Longa 2125/B, 30135 Venezia. It delves into themes of fragile presences and emotional stories using everyday materials. Sambo (b. 1993) utilizes graphite and wood, whereas La Montagna (b. 1992) incorporates found objects and poetic expressions. Their creations encourage a contemplative focus on memory and vulnerability. The opening featured a live poetry reading by La Montagna accompanied by a sound piece from Sambo, which will persist throughout the exhibition.
