Il Museum of Pop Culture di Seattle ospita attualmente "Rebels + Icons: The Photography of Janette Beckman", un'ampia mostra che presenta oltre 500 immagini che coprono 40 anni. Janette Beckman, nata nel 1959, è una fotografa britannica nota per aver catturato leggende del punk e dell'hip-hop prima che diventassero mainstream, tra cui Public Enemy, Joe Strummer e Salt-N-Pepa. Ha iniziato la sua carriera al primo concerto hip-hop a Londra nel 1982, fotografando figure come Afrika Bambaataa. Dopo aver studiato alla Saint Martin's e al London College of Communication, ha lavorato per Melody Maker, coprendo band come i Clash. Negli anni '80 si è trasferita a New York, documentando l'evoluzione dell'hip-hop. La mostra, che presenta anche la sua fotografia di moda e il suo attivismo, rimarrà aperta fino all'8 settembre 2026.
