Jacopo Benassi Brings Light Sculpture to Landandart in Monregalese

Fatti principali

• Jacopo Benassi (born La Spezia, 1970) is the fifth artist in Landandart – andar per arte, a project created in 2023 by Giulia Carbone.
• Landandart is promoted by the non-profit cultural association VIA and focuses on the Langhe area between Mondovì and Vicoforte (Cuneo).
• Benassi's installation Immagine di luce is located at the Fontana del Foo, an ancient spring in a forest.
• For the first time, Benassi renounced the camera and any support, creating an expanded flash of light that sculpts the environment.
• On October 10, the opening day, Benassi presented the sound performance Light is life! with members of the local band.
• Curator Antonio Grulli wrote the critical text accompanying the work, noting Benassi's dual research directions.
• The Fontana del Foo was historically a meeting point and in the 19th century a natural stage for theatrical performances.
• Other artists in Landandart include Emilio Ferro, Giovanni Ozzola, Carlo D'Oria, and Antonio Capaccio, with works installed between Vicoforte and Mondovì.
